The adventures of Gohil "Badger" Alastor

Post by Gohil Alastor »

Although I'm not a Red Rose member, I hope people won't mind me posting some of my stories here. Maybe you heard of them before, I posted them on the Antica boards before. However, the initial first chapters sadly got lost after a forum maintainance, and I had to reconstruct most of it based on what I could remember.

Where we left off

As a little boy, Gohil Alastor was raised by the Elves, after an orc raid destroyed his hometown and killed his parents. As a young man, destined to become a druid, an adorer of life and nature, he wanders these lands, hoping to find love and compassion.

Now, Gohil is a grown-up druid and decided to leave Ab'dendriel and the Elves that raised him, to discover the vast world and have adventures of his own. Eventually, adventure came to him when he was visited by Badger, a ... euhm ... badger that claimed to have come from a different world. Apparently, he was sent by a scientist that discovered a link to this world. Badger fused together with Gohil, forming a dual soul. This is why Gohil Alastor now and then transforms into a badger, how odd that might seem.

However, along with Badger, a terribly secret got revealed as well. Gohil Alastor got abducted by a powerful wizard and brought to another world. There, he discovered he used to be a fragment of Miu Alastor, a necromancer that discovered the secret of the reversed life. Using this secret, he returned to Rookgaard to start a fresh new life. However, in the process, his soul was shattered, and the Fragments blown to other worlds. The scientist, Aurian Alastor, who sent Badger is another Fragment, along with the evil wizard Shane Alastor. This last one however is planning to reunite the shattered Fragments into one soul, a being of immense power. With this power, Shane Alastor would be able to reach out to all worlds, and conquer the entire multiverse of Tibia!

Gohil Alastor felt himself dragged into a cataclysmic saga of mythical proportions. He felt vulnerable, powerless, and unable to do anything about what was happening. But, with Badger's help, maybe he could stop Shane, who knows ...

Rupture

...

I was walking along the coast line of Darashia. It was a hot and sunny day, as usual. It had been some time since I had the chance to enjoy a hot and sunny day. The past few weeks I had been too busy being dragged into all kind of problematic situations to notice the comfortable weather. But today promised to be one without troubles, at least that's what I thought ...

I guess the increase of wind speed should have alarmed me. But it didn't. And before I realised something terrible was happening, I found myself standing in the middle of pure chaos. The harsh wind blew up the sand, covering everything in a throat-scraping fog. All around me, there were these collumns of wind and sand, destroying everything on their path. Everything that was loose, like sand, animals, people and carcasses, was blown high up. Luckily I managed to protect myself with a powerful magic shield spell, or I wouldn't be telling this tale.

Then something unbelievable happened. The sky tore apart in one mighty rip, at both sides surrounded by powerful jolts of energy. Behind the rip, you could see all the colors of the spectrum, and more. But the colors seemed to mix with eachother, forming bizarre combinations that fooled the eye. Then, a shape appeared from within the rupture ... a ship, one with black sails, and made of black wood. When about half of the ship crossed the rupture, a shockwave shook the chaotic scene. And suddenly, the rip closed, tearing off half of the ship, and the part fell in the sea, taking both cargo and passengers down to certain death.
Badger spoke out my thoughts about this confusing event:

'It seems your cousin Shane just made his first move ... but failed.'

The little elves - chapter I

The events of the previous day were still fresh in my mind, bombarding my thoughts with endless questions. Luckily I always had someone to talk to, to process the trauma and get on with my life.

'Shane seems to be experimenting with rips. But controlling such an unstable phenomenon requires powerful magic and long-forgotten knowledge. It will take a while before he's actually able to control a rop.'

'But what if he does Badger? If he can send an army through such a rip, our world is doomed.

'Let's not worry too much. The rip might not last long enough to send through an entire army.'

I decided to travel to Shadowthorn, the home of the misunderstood Elves. Because I was raised by the Elvish, they welcomed me like they welcome one of their brothers. Shadowthorn is one of those few places where I can still find rest, being it a haven of peace and solitude.

...

I wandered off a bit to the west of Shadowthorn, making sure I wouldn't wander off too far. According to the Elven elders, there had been sightings of activity west from the village. Having nothing on my hands, I decided to take a look.

'Careful Gohil, I sense a presence. Someone's near us.'

Suddenly, I saw a momevent in a near-by bush. I prepared my magic and slowly stepped towards the origin of the movement. Before I fully realised what happened, a small elf jumped from the bush. Thinking it was a child, I calmed down.

'Young master elf, what are you doing so far from the village?'

The small elf laughed, which was a funny sight. Most elves laughed in a controlled kind of way, without opening the mouth too much, which they considered as Dwarfish and therefore rude. But this young elf laughed like a true-born dwarf, shaking over his whole body.

'I'm not an elf, young man. What you are standing in front of, is a true Dwelf, jawohl.'

'A Dwelf?'

'Yes, considering the unlikelyness of such an existence, you're a lucky one. Not many elves ever saw a dwelf, and you are human. Jawohl, how incredible it might seen, there have been dwarves and elves that actually liked eachother. But let's not stand here, I know a nice place to chat, with plenty of beer and enough to eat. Let me escort you to Yana'Lorn, young man, and impress you.'

That sure was an offer I couldn't refuse.

The little elves - chapter II

...

'Is this delicious beer imported from Kazordoon?'

I took another sip from the mug, and was surprised about the plenty of flavours that entered my nostrils and tongue.

'No, young man, what question! The dwarves of Kazordoon would rather chop off our heads than giving us their beer, jawohl. This is genuine Dwelvish berrybeer, brewed from berries that we harvest in the mines.'

'That explains the abundance of flavours.'

'Jawohl, our beer is one of a kind friend. But come, there is still so much to see.'

The jolly Dwelf, named Briomdul as he told me, led me through strangely illuminated tunnels and halls, eventhough I couldn't see any torches on its walls. This had to be some kind of advanced magic. Here and there you could even see small spots of grass and flowers, seemingly growing from solid rock. Briomdul kept walking with a firm pace, dragging me along, until we arrived at a massive wooden door.

'Enter human friend, and be amazed, jawohl!'

The Dwelf opened the door by placing his hand on a blueish glowing rune, another sign of advanced elvish magic. I stepped inside the biggest and widest hall I'd ever seen. But the size of the hall wasn't what made me fall on my knees, neither was the fact I couldn't see the ceiling. No, not even the grass I felt under my knees, nor the millions of yellow flowers spread throughout the halls, was what astonished me most. What really brought tears in my eyes were the colossal stone trees that filled the hall!

The little elves - Chapter III

...

'Get off me! Let me go!'
'Shut him up Uriul!'

A hard slap made me go unconscious and I lost awareness of what was happening to me.

During the night, while sleeping in a very soft bed, I was brutely woken up by group of black hooded figures. They pulled me out of bed, tied me up, and carried me somewhere unknown. All I knew, before the big guy knocked me unconscious, was that I felt like going downhill.

'Wake up, weak human scum.'

I carefully opened my eyes, and looked directly at a small person. I immediately recognized him as a Dwelf, yet he somehow was different. He had a gloomy aura around him, and his face was covered with ugly black spots, scars. All in all, he defenitely lost the charms the other Dwelves had in abundance.

'Who? Who are you? Where am I?'

'You're at the Sect human. Who I am is of no importance. We noticed you're quite the friend of the blasphemists. How silly of our brethren that they didn't foresee we would take advantage of that. But they are blasphemists after all. We are all blasphemists. If only they would realise. But soon, they'll see.'

I was about to ask what he wanted of me, but then I noticed I was missing something. I was missing Badger. The fact he wasn't with me could only mean one thing. My thoughts were proven much sooner than I expected.

'Guards! The guards found us!'

The eery man in front of me looked surprised.

'What?! How did they find us that quick? Impossible!'

The people of the Sect left me behind and fled as fast as possible. Several minutes later, a group of Dwelven guards, led by Badger, came to rescue me.

'Luckily for us, we two are never fully seperated', I said with a smile.

The little elves - Chapter IV

During the three days after the frightening event, I learned the nature of the sect that were behind the abduction. They call themselves the Poica, which means "pure" in old Elvish. They believe that the existence of the Dwelves, the existence of any half-bread, is an insult towards the gods, blasphemy. In their eyes, they serve the holy goal of purifying both the elvish and dwarfish race. This by total annihilation. The authorities of Yana'Lorn have had to deal with the Poica for several years. However, recently they have become agressive. Also, there have been sightings of all kind of demons, and other mischievous creatures. Some of the dwelven spellweavers, the magicians, think the Poica made some kind of deal with a demonlord. But whatever they've done, it can't be good.

...

'Friend Gohil, this is not your fight. You should leave Yana'Lorn for your own safety, and ours. As long as you are here friend, they'll try to abduct you and use you against us. How much I'm sorry to say it, Im afraid you'll have to leave, jawohl.'

'I know Briomdul. My companion Badger already explained it to me. I will leave Yana'Lorn. But I promise I'll be back one day, and if there's anything I can do for you, I will.'

With those last words, I left Yana'Lorn, city of the noble Dwelves. I tried to keep a positive head, constantly reminding myself of the rich experience I received, the many new friends I found, but nothing could take away the pain of having to leave such a wonder behind.

The next day, I stumbled upon a large group of tough looking warriors. One of them, who seemed to be the leader, came towards me.

'Good day young druid. Don't worry, we're just a humble hunting team from the Red Rose guild.'

'You're on the hunt? What for?'

'Haha, good question young man. We'll hunt down anything evil. Demons, undead, orcs, you name it, and we'll hunt it.'

While I headed towards Venore, a quite large group of powerful warriors and magicians marched towards the location of Yana'Lorn, on the search for a vicious demonlord and its army. Maybe they'll get the chance to help some Dwelves as well along the way.

Riddles and laughs with the snake-woman

Tibia is filled with mysteries, some beautifully wonderous, but most of them awefully terrifying. I count my cousin Shane and his terrible powers to that last category. Luckily, I hadn't seen much of him lately, and I prayed with all my heart it would stay just like that. Yet, sometimes, mysteries struck you when you least expect it.

...

I was walking around in an area I had never visited before. As a matter of a fact, the area seemed a bit out of place, as if it was not yet part of Tibia as we know it.

'I have the same feeling Gohil. Something's terribly wrong here. We shouldn't be supposed to be here.'

'Why do things like that always happen to us?'

Suddenly, out of nowhere, a thick black fog surrounded us, lowering our sight to almost zero. All I could do is walk and hope to get out the fog eventually. However, instead of walking out of the fog, the fog decided to leave us. It vaporized and left us with ourselves ... and an ugly woman with red blazing eyes and sssnakes as hair.

'Stop human. You go no further.'

'Alright. What do you want of us?'

'I want to turn you into stone. Don't look so scared, you should be proud. You'll be the first one I turn to stone. But you know what, I'll give you a chance. Let's play Riddles!'

'I suppose I have no choice.'

'That's right. Good, I will give you a set of hints. After each hint, you can guess one time. Then, you can decide to guess again, or go for the next hint. If you guess wrong two times in a row, I'll turn you into stone. Do you guess right, then I'll let you go. Ready?'

'Yeah. Give me that first hint.'

'I'm white and round, but not always around.'

'Euhm ... no idea. Give me the next hint.'

'Sometimes you see a slice of me, sometimes you see me half, and sometimes the whole of me.'

'Well euhm ... a piece of cake?'

'No you fool! You want to guess again, or go for the next hint?'

'Next hint please.'

'Alright. Sometimes I'm dark, sometimes I'm light.'

'Beer! I must be beer! There's white beer and dark beer.'

'You foolish mortal, do you even try solving it? This will be the last hint. I'm far out there, unreachable, but everyone wants to walk all over me.'

'The answer is the moon, vile creature. Now let me and Gohil go. Your stone-gaze won't touch us, medusa.'

'Gaaaaaaah! Fine, go, before I change my mind.'

...

'So, this medusa woman wasn't aware of our dual nature?'

'That's right Gohil, I noticed it when she called you a "foolish mortal". Neither did she make any rules about how many could guess. But good you told me you had no idea what the answer was, I really thought an easy riddle like that would be no problem for you.'

'Easy? You call that easy!?'

Release of hidden powers, Part I

'So, how are we getting out of this mess Badger?'

'We will in due time. But there's still one thing that needs to be done?'

'Which is? This place is giving me the chills. I rather be somewhere else.'

'I understand. This place doesn't belong to the normal Tibia. The only reason you're able to get here, is because of your history. New souls that come in through the Portal of Souls undergo a whole series of limitations to control the power and possibilities that lie within their being. However, the Portal is build to process incoming souls from other planes, other dimensions. It was not equiped to deal with souls from within the Tibia dimension itself.'

'I don't understand. You mean my powers aren't limited?'

'They are, but the limitations aren't as strong as with normal souls. That's why Shane was able to become so powerful, he found a way to shake them off somehow. He regained a part of the original might of the soul Miu Alastor. Your ancestor must have been a immense powerful being in his original dimension. For all we know, he even might have been a divine being that decided to come to Tibia after hearing about the troubles we were being faced with. He figured his powers could be of use to our dimension. Sadly enough, Miu created more problems than solving them.'

'So why am I here then?'

'I'm not be able to fully bring out your born potential, but I know someone who might. This person lives here.'

'Wait a minute, YOU brought us here?'

'That's correct. The meeting with the medusa was something I didn't anticipate. Sorry for the trouble that was caused, but this is important.'

'You do have a point there. Alright then, let's go.'

Release of hidden powers, Part II

'So, who is this person you're taking me to?'

Badger brought me to the weirdest building I ever saw. It looked like a church, but was completely white and had no windows. When we entered the building, I was overwhelmed by the strange feeling that we were being watched. As if the white church was one gigantic being. I sensed the presence of something I couldn't grasp, something so big and omniscient that it completely blew me off my socks.

'She is the guardian angel of all living souls, the doorkeeper, the hostess. She is life and hope.'

'Who is she?'

'She is the Vortex, Gohil.'

'WHY HAVE YOU COME HERE?'

The monumental voice came from nowhere and from everywhere at the same time. I could hear her coming from all directions, even from within my mind. With every word she said, she touched and searched my soul and Badger's soul, seemingly eager to know what drove us here.

'I SEE. I FELT THIS DAY WAS COMING. I UNDERSTAND. YOUR ROAD IS COVERED WITH MANY ROCKS, GOHIL. IT WILL BE HARD, AND SOMETIMES CLOSE TO UNBEARABLE. BUT UNDERSTAND THE FATE OF MANY LIVING THINGS IN MANY WORLDS DEPEND ON YOU. YOU ARE THEIR LAST HOPE.

I CANNOT GRANT YOU ACCESS TO YOUR FULL POTENTIAL, BUT I CAN EXPLAIN THE NATURE OF YOUR FOREFATHER BEFORE HE CAME HERE. MIU ALASTOR WAS A DEITY, A DIVINE BEING OF INCREDIBLE POWER AND KNOWLEDGE. HE FLED FROM HIS HOME-DIMENSION WHEN IT WAS INVADED BY A MYSTERIOUS ENEMY FROM BEYOND, AS HE EXPLAINED IT TO ME. A NAMELESS CREATURE OF ENDLESS RAGE AND HUNGER. HE COULDN'T EXPLAIN THE NATURE OF THIS ENEMY, BUT HE ADMITTED THAT EVEN HIS DIVINE POWERS WERE TO MATCH FOR THE MIGHT OF THE ENEMY. THEY FOUGHT A BATTLE OF EONS, BUT EVENTUALLY MIU ALASTOR LOST, AND HIS HOME-DIMENSION WAS DESTROYED. HE WAS ABLE TO FLEE AND CAME HERE, TO TIBIA, TO OFFER HIS KNOWLEDGE AND MIGHT TO PROTECT THE LIVES OF TIBIANS, IN CASE THE NAMELESS CREATURE WOULD INVADE OUR PLANE AS WELL.

THE GODS HOWEVER COULD NOT TOLERATE THE PRESENCE OF ANOTHER DIVINE BEING, AND DECIDED TO CONTROL MIU'S POTENTIAL, TURNING HIM INTO A NORMAL SOUL. HOWEVER, MIU 'S POWERS WERE VAST, AT LEAST EQUAL TO THE GODS, MAYBE EVEN SURPASSING THEIR MIGHT. HE INSERTED AN EMERGENCY MACHINISM. AS HE COULD FORESEE PATHS IN THE FUTURE, HE KNEW HIS POWERS WOULD BE NEEDED ONE DAY. MIU THEREFORE LOCKED HIMSELF UP IN HIS OWN SOUL AND CONSTRUCTED AN ALTERNATE PERSONALITY. SADLY, HE COULD NOT FORESEE THIS PERSONALITY WOULD MAKE SOME REGRETFUL DECISIONS WHICH LEAD TO THIS COURSE OF EVENTS. YET THE MIGHT AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE DIVINE MIU ARE NEEDED NOW. YOU WILL HAVE TO SEARCH DEEP INSIDE YOU, BUT IN A NEUTRAL ENVIRONMENT!'

Then the Vortex left, her presence and voice completely dissapeared, along with the white church. I then realised, she was the white church.

Evil versus evil

...

Somewhere in the world Harmonia, in a dark and secluded castle on a hill, the sinister wizard Shane Alastor was contemplating the events that had taken place during the past months.

'Why is the progress going so slow? I should have been able to create a fully working gateway long ago. It's like ... something is holding me back. Something ... or someone.'

However, Shane immediately shook off this ridiculous thought. No one in this world and beyond could contest his superior powers. He was one of the mightiest. The few entities that could oppose him were too far away to be a threat. No, this setback had to be something technical, something he could solve. Shane decided he'd triple check the gateway-formula the next day. He had been waiting for so long, waiting a couple of months longer wouldn't be a problem.

'Now there's only the case of the divine two. Maybe I should send scouts to the worlds of Astera and Nerana to locate their presence. It's a nice occasion to test my smaller portal.'

Suddenly, something grotesque disturbed his thoughts. A presence of intense anger and hate was scraping the boundaries of his mind. Something wanted to break in, something of terrifying power. Shane felt the air getting thinner and had trouble breathing. Quickly he whispered a vanquishing spell to clear the air. He felt himself calming down, but the evil presence remained. Suddenly, the light in Shane's study dimmed and the wizard could clearly the presence of some sort of entity.

'SJAAAH ... YOU THINK YOU ARE POWERFUL? INSIGNIFANT FOOL, WHEN I ARRIVE I WILL MAKE YOU CURSE YOUR ARROGANCE. ABSOLUTELY NO ONE CAN OPPOSE MY MIGHT. PREPARE FOR MY ARRIVAL AND THE ARRIVAL OF A BLACK ERA. WITH MY COMING ALL AND EVERYTHING WILL BE UNDONE! SJAAAH!'

The presence disappeared, leaving a pale Shane alone in his study. This sure complicated the situation, and when the wizard eventually calmed down he knew he had to check the gateway-formula even that night. He had no time left whatsoever.

Otherworldy rescue, Part I

...

'Strange. What would he be looking for there?'

'You were saying something Badger?'

After their confrontation with the Vortex, where Gohil learned about his ancestor Miu Alastor, he and Badger returned to the normal Tibia. They were now enjoying some deserved rest at the beaches of Darashia.

'Shane has sent scouts to the worlds Astera and Nerana. I wonder what he's looking for.'

'Whatever it is, let's not push our noises in it. I'm resting, thank you.'

'We have no choice Gohil. Remember what the Vortex said? Search inside you, but in a neutral environment.'

'So?'

'Nerana and Astera are special worlds. They are surrounded by a powerful magical aura, preventing the inhabitants from hurting eachother. The world Shane lives on, Harmonia, is also such world, but I wouldn't call it neutral there. And remember, Shane is looking for the very same thing you are looking for. He wants to gather all the Alastor souls to obtain the ultimate power. He will also need the divine might of Miu to accomplish that.'

'Alright, fine. Where do we go first then? Nerana?'

...

'But how do we get there?'

Otherworldy rescue, Part II

...

After Badger reassured Gohil that he thought about their transport, he lead him to the middle of the desert of Darashia. And there, someone else was waiting for them.

'Who is that person over there Badger? I've never seen him before.'

'That, Gohil, is your cousin from the world Amera. That is Aurian Alastor.'

'Aurian ... Alastor?! You mean ... the scientist that send you to me?'

'That's right. He hasn't been resting ever since he send me to this world. He worked hard to contstruct a fully operational portal, so that he could transport himself to another world. And as you can see, he succeeded. Thanks to Aurian, we will be able to travel to Nerana and Astera, and stop Shane.'

Still a bit hesitant, Gohil walked slowly towards his otherworldy cousin, someone who shared a splinter of the same soul Gohil was once part of. Strangely enough, the didn't look alike at all, though Aurian had a look in his eyes Gohil somehow recognised. Then he remembered it's the look he had when he watched himself in a mirror. Apparently, they were more alike than Gohil thought.

'Greetings Gohil, this is an astounding honor.'

Aurian stretched out his hand. In a reflex, Gohil grabbed his hand to shake it. And then it happened. A blinding column of light, seemingly coming from nowhere, surrounded them. For a moment, they stood there like that, holding eachother's hand. The light approached, faster and faster, until they were trapped inside. The light pushed further, and they merged.

...

'Alright, I hadn't expected this.'

'Tell me about it Badger, let's just hope it won't become too crowdy inside.'

'Amazing! Despite all my studies on this subject, I had no idea this would happen.'

'You know what's amazing? Even though we're with three in here, my appearance hasn't changed at all. But when Badger fused with me, my hair became white.'

'I have an explanation for that, though I'm not sure how valid it is. But you see, I think it's because Badger is a different soul than the two of us, but our souls originally belong to the same soul, so we're sort of equal. All that merged with you and Badger, was my soul, not my body or appearance.'

'That's and interesting though. But now, let's go to Astera?'

'Exactly my thoughts Badger. Now Aurian, I heard you know a thing or two about portals and such?'

Otherworldy rescue, Part III

...

'So, this is Astera? Doesn't like that different from our world, now does it?'

'That's right Gohil. All Tibian worlds are similar in most aspects.'

'Now tell me, what are looking for?'

'The question is not WHAT we're looking for, but WHO. And I believe we should head to the east.'

Gohil decided not to ask any further. He figured he would find out who or what it was about soon enough. The young druid walked at a fast pace, not long after arriving at a shocking scene.

A young girl was being hunted by an obomination. It looked mostly like a crossbreed between a vampire and a behemoth. The enourmous creature, with bat-like wings and long fangs, was catching up fast with the scared girl. It looked like she would fall in his hands any time soon. All Gohil could do was watch and stand in horror. Then something undesribable happened. From within the space still between the vampimoth and the girl, a shadow materialised. Lacking any form or shape, it put itself between the girl and the terrible creature. For a moment, the vampimoth hesitated, but then charged to attack whatever it was. In a matter of seconds, the shadowy entity surrounded the terrible creature, completely swallowed it and disappeared. When it happened, Gohil could swear he heard an evil whispering in the air.

'Variphoooooor.'

...

At the local inn, Gohil and the young girl rested after the shocking experience. The girl couldn't be much older than fourteen. She had a thin figure, short black hair and expressibe green eyes. All in all, a remarkable appearance.

'What is your name?'

'Athiella ... Athiella Alastor.'

From within himself, he could feel Badger's and Aurian's shocked reaction. "Alastor?! This it who Shane was looking for!"

'You have any family here?'

'No. My entire family died years ago after an undead invasion ...'

Badger whispered: 'Similar to what happened to your family Gohil.'

'... Ever since that happened, I had to take care of myself. I've been fine though, until that "thing" started chasing me.'

'Speaking about that. What did it want of you?'

'I have no idea. But I'm glad that shadow swallowed it.'

'Well Athiella, what would you say if I asked you to come on an exciting adventure with me. There will be many dangers for us to face, but at least we'll face them together.'

'Yes please. I don't feel safe alone anymore. I'll come with you, wherever you go.'

'Haha, "wherever". You wait Athiella, you wait!'

Otherworldy rescue, Part IV

...

'SJAAAAH, THE BOARD HAS BEEN SET, THE PIECES PLACED. NOW WE SHALL SEE WHO REALLY IS THE STRONGEST, MIU. fLEEING TO THIS PUNY TIBIA MERELY STALLED YOUR DESTINATION. THE END IS FINALLY NEAR. YOUR END, BY MY HANDS!'

Soch'Nys observed the scenery and situation on the worlds of Nerana and Astera from above, from beyond, from outside Tibia. Soon, it would be done, the twins reunited with the base of Miu's soul. Devine and soul as one, his former might would be restored, and Soch could finish where he started off. And this time, he wouldn't let him escape.

'IT WAS SMART TO FORESEE THE FUTURE, AND EXCLUDE THE FRAGMENT SHANE FROM THE PROCESS. THAT IGNORANT FOOL WILL TRY HIS BEST TO PREVENT THE UNIFICATION FROM TAKING PLACE, BUT HIS FAILURE IS BEYOND HIS GRASP. HIS WEAKNESS IS HIS OVERCONFIDENCE. BUT HE WILL SOON LEARN.'

Soch'Nys was once a mortal wizard from a distant galaxy. Countless ages ago, he sacrificed his name and soul for one greater goal, becoming the most powerful being in the Omniverse. Always on the hunt, he prays of the lifeforce of entire universes, leaving nothing but death and destruction behind. With each galaxy Soch'Nys devourered, his power grew ten-fold, and he always adopted the name that was given to him by the beings of that galaxy. Soch'Nys means Nameless Enemy in a forgotten language of a destroyed universe. And eventhough his name seemed to change with each universe he destroyed, it actually always meant the same: the Nameless One, Nameless Creature, Nameless Enemy. Where as normal entities inherit their strength and lifeforce from the name of their souls, Soch'Nys inherits his might from the absence of a soul, and therefore also lacks a name. He personally gives the credits to a flaw in the system of the Omniverse, allowing a soulless creature to step out of the boundaries set by the Creator. And thanks to this flaw, Soch was getting closer to his ultimate goal, becoming more powerful than Ancient One himself, so he could destroy this Omniverse and start a fresh one.

Soch'Nys never had much opposement during his raids. When he had just sacrificed his soul, and just started his hunts, there were some entities, divine entities, that endangered his survival. Gods usually weren't fond of universe-devouring creatures that invade their homeworld. Soch had been on the bring of destruction several time. But his strong desire to become all-powerful prevented his failure, and each time he managed to defeat his opponents. Then, at a certain point, he became so powerful no one could oppose him. The last one that tried was Miu, who was possibly the strongest he ever faced. And eventhough Soch'Nys eventually won and destroyed Miu's home-universe, he let him escape, a fault he could never forgive himself. He had to follow him to finish his work. Soch'Nys had the feeling that, if he didn't persue him, he would cause his own downfall. If someone could stop him somehow, it was Miu. But he wouldn't let it come so far. It would stop right here and right now, so that Soch could continue his raid.
