Full Name: Neytery Gamon Jr Oakhand
Age: 30
Vocation: Royal Paladin
Place of birth: Mill Avenue, near the Old Water Wheel District, Northeast Thais
Personality & Traits
Clever — Always two steps ahead, usually smirking about it.
Laid-back — Handles chaos like someone who’s seen worse.
Loyal (in his own way) — Trust must be earned, but once it’s there, he’s all in.
Flaws:
Avoids responsibility unless cornered
Openly disrespectful toward hollow authority
Background
Neytery was born in the dusty backstreets of Mill Avenue, tucked in the northeast edge of Thais where gold doesn’t shine and the smell of old varnish outlasts any perfume. His father, Gamon, ran a struggling furniture shop — no banners, no customers in silk, just sawdust, hard work, and quiet pride. His mother died in childbirth, leaving Gamon to raise him alone, guided by the grain of good oak and a deep respect for honest craftsmanship.
In a city like Thais — founded by warriors, ruled by kings, and constantly under threat from orcs and thieves — kids like Neytery learned fast: keep your mouth quick, your head low, and never trust a man who polishes his armor more than he uses it.
Gamon always hoped Neytery would follow in his footsteps — working extra hours in the shop, learning the grain of each wood, helping build a steady, honest life. Just like other sons did with their fathers. But Banor had other plans for Neytery. He’d sneak out to the edges of the city or down into the sewer grates, bow in hand, picking off rats, baby trolls, and anything else that moved.
He was born with an uncanny gift for the bow — hitting targets long before he could name them. He didn’t become a Royal Paladin through titles or tradition, but through relentless precision, street-earned grit, and a tongue sharp enough to land him in trouble more often than not.
The Incident: The Noodles Affair
Neytery never meant for things to go that far. He was just out doing what he always did — roaming the outskirts of Thais with his bow, hunting rats and baby trolls for practice. It was a habit formed in childhood, a way to keep sharp and stay sane. But one afternoon, something moved behind the poplar just past the bridge at the North Gate. Neytery loosed a shot without thinking from the old water wheel at the end of Mill Avenue.
The yelp echoed before the arrow had even landed.
It wasn’t a rat. It wasn’t a troll. It was Noodles — the royal poodle of King Tibianus III, the King’s greatest treasure and the best sniffer dog in the kingdom. The arrow barely hit the poodle — just enough to leave a scratch and a startled yelp, but not enough to do real harm.
Guards rushed the scene — Grof, the Guard leading the charge with Baxter stomping close behind, red-faced and ready for blood. Neytery didn’t wait to explain.
By sundown, the Tibian Bureau of Investigation (TBI) had already labeled it a potential act of terrorism. The King himself claimed he had seen the arrow strike and ordered an investigation so sweeping that it left no street vendor or boot cleaner untouched. Captain Chester Kahs took personal charge of the case.
When the guards couldn’t find a suspect, the TBI began looking for connections — anything that might hint at who was capable of such a shot. People started whispering Neytery’s name, linking it to talk of some young guy with a bow who could knock a coin off a bottle from twenty paces like it was nothing. That trail led them to Gamon’s shop, not out of evidence, but curiosity. A craftsman’s son with a reputation for precision? That was enough.
The shop was “inspected” almost daily. Customers stopped coming. The TBI lingered like a shadow, not openly accusing, but always watching — waiting for something to confirm the story they were writing in their heads.
Neytery, realizing his shot had nearly turned into a national scandal, vanished that same night. Not out of guilt — but out of survival.
The Disappearance
No trial. No bounty. Just whispers and romours.
Neytery disappeared. Some said he fled to the colonies. Others claimed he joined a smugglers’ fleet or vanished into Fibula’s tunnels. In truth, he went underground to survive. For years, he wandered the far edges of civilization — moving through places few dared to name. He passed through the jungles of Tiquanda, crossed the haunted dungeons beneath Drefia, and even spent a year in a hermit's cave overlooking the icy cliffs of Hrodmir.
He never used his full name. But he always carried his father’s carving knife, and the lessons that came with it.
The Return
When the dust settled and the years had dulled the scandal to a whisper, Neytery returned to Thais. Now older, and with more scars than medals. Neytery returned, not to seek redemption but to reclaim a sense of purpose.
And so, he began to look for something steadier. Something rooted. The name Red Rose had always lingered in stories — a guild that had outlasted kings, scandals, and time itself. Not built on gold or war, but on trust and tradition. It wasn’t just a guild. It was a legacy.
So Neytery applied. Not with a letter or a plea, but with the same quiet stubbornness his father once carved into oak. A simple truth: he was ready to build something that would last.
Present Day: A New Chapter
Today, Neytery stands as a Novicium of Red Rose, studying under his mentor Natures Lord — a paladin like himself, and a long-standing leader of one of Tibia’s most storied and respected guilds. Neytery watches and listens, quietly absorbing the lessons behind every word and silence. Even with his dry wit and resistance to formality, Neytery can’t deny the weight of learning under someone who embodies what it truly means to be a Red Rose.
The old instincts are still there — the stubborn edge, the sharp aim, the side-eye for hollow authority — but little by little, Neytery is starting to change. He is becoming something more. A full-grown Red Rose, one day at the time.
To be continued…
