APPLICANTS | Please Read This Before You Apply

Post by Theoden »

Greetings, Tibian,

If you wish to join the Red Rose, you may submit an application in this section of the board. You will receive a reply.

Before doing so, read this carefully.

We are not interested in your level, skills, or power. We are interested in who you are, how you act, and whether you truly belong with us. Read the Red Rose Codices before applying. Think carefully. Be honest. Be imaginative.

Image    About the Red Rose
Founded on the 7th of December 1998, the Red Rose is one of the oldest guilds in Tibia. Our history reaches back to the dawn of Tibia’s Golden Age.

We are a diverse guild, made up of many different kinds of players and people. Among us you will find roleplayers, powergamers, writers, explorers, and many others. What unites us is not how we play the game, but how we treat one another.

We stand by our values, our members, and our friends. We do not seek conflict, and when conflicts arise, we face them together and resolve them through dialogue rather than force. We play Tibia because it is fun, and we strive to foster joy, camaraderie, and a positive spirit both within the guild and in the wider community.

To support this, we maintain an active presence through our Discord server and this forum, where much of our social life, coordination, and shared history takes place.

To be a Rose is not a right — it is an honour earned over time. Because of our history and standards, we accept only a limited number of Noviciums.

Image    Before You Apply
Ask yourself the following questions, and answer them seriously:
  • Can I live alongside experienced players who will test me repeatedly?
  • Am I prepared to be a Novicium for a long time?
  • Am I willing to be evaluated not only as a player, but as a person?
If you dismiss these questions lightly, you will not progress far.

Image    On Noviciumship
Noviciumship is not a formality.

The Novicium period lasts at least five months, and often longer. During this time, both your
Mentor and the Magister Noviciorum will assign you tasks of varying difficulty. These tasks may
include, but are not limited to:
  • roleplay assignments,
  • powergaming objectives,
  • organising events,
  • writing texts or reports,
  • demonstrating initiative, discipline, and reliability.
Tasks are expected to be completed within the given timeframes and to an appropriate
standard. Noviciumship requires effort, consistency, and personal responsibility.

We guide and support our Noviciums, but we do not shield them from every hardship. Mistakes
may happen, but you must be able to explain your actions. Failure to meet expectations may
result in the termination of Noviciumship.

Image    Recruitment Paths
There are two recognised ways to enter the recruitment process of the Red Rose.

1) Forum Application
Most candidates submit an application on their own initiative, often after having interacted with
members of the guild over time. In some cases, a candidate may also be encouraged to apply.
Regardless of circumstance, the application itself is a required step and serves as the
foundation for further evaluation.

2) Vouched Application
A candidate may be vouched for by a full member of the Red Rose.
A vouch signifies that a member is willing to stand behind the candidate’s character and
conduct. It does not guarantee acceptance, nor does it bypass any stage of the recruitment or
Noviciumship process.

All candidates are assessed according to the same standards and expectations.

Those who progress will eventually face the Crossfire — a group interview in which members
question the candidate directly to assess character, mindset, and understanding of Tibia and the
Red Rose.

Image    Final Words
Every applicant is taken seriously. Our standards are demanding, but they are fair. Being denied does not mean you are a bad Tibian — it means that the Red Rose was not the right place for you at this time.
If, after reading all of this, you still wish to apply, we will listen.
