"Future archpostman?"
Ah, another day, another sunny morning in Southern Port Hope.
The sounds of creatures from the nearby jungle awaken Landan.
Landan still hopes that one day he will return to either his hometown, Thais, or the place where he grew up, Kazordoon.
He loves going back there, visiting Benjamin at the Thais depot, or slaying monsters deep down in the mines of Kazordoon, just like the old times, eh?
Adventure awaits. This time, it’s a bounty he took yesterday evening, he’s got to kill some minotaurs. He’ll also be on a mission, a quest that most heroes have completed… and if they haven’t—oh, what a fool!
Have you seen mailboxes? Of course you have, they’re everywhere!
But some are restricted. They’re hidden behind a door with a red handle, a door that only the worthy may open: members of the Postman Guild.
It isn’t easy to become a postman, but anything is possible, and Kevin can help with that.
It all started when Landan headed down into the Ancient Temple to complete his bounty task.
He could have gone to Yalahar’s Foreign Quarter or the Minotaur Tower in the northern part of Darashia, but he had another plan.
Legendary Mintwallin, deep beneath the Ancient Temple of Thais.
Landan had to face all kinds of monsters on his way there. Rotworms, orcs, cyclopes, spiders, and even a dragon, which he heard lurking nearby.
When he finally arrived in the Minotaur City, which used to be occupied by demons, he began the slaughter with his famous Demonwing Axe. It had no trouble dealing with all types of minotaurs, archers, guards, and even mages.
All minotaurs had to die.
After some time, he had gathered a lot of gold, maces, swords, and skinned several minotaur leathers. He could feel it, everything was very heavy. Heading towards the main gate of the Minotaur City, he thought about taking the long walk back to Thais, as he couldn’t carry any more.
That’s when he saw a mysterious door with a red handle.
What was inside?
Was someone trapped there?
Or maybe a reward chest?
He had to open it.
He took a sip from one of his mana potions and went for it. He grabbed the handle and turned it. Nothing happened.
What? Why wasn’t it opening? The lock didn’t require a key, so that wasn’t it.
Landan took a quick walk around the small building but didn’t find another entrance. He was exhausted. As mentioned before, he had looted a massive amount of gear from the minotaurs, and every step made him feel heavier and more tired.
Even though he desperately wanted to know what was behind that door, it wasn’t the right time. He still had a long walk ahead of him, so he headed toward the main gate.
A long walk it was. Of course, he had to face more monsters on the way back, but he didn’t even bother looting them, it was too much. When he finally reached the stairs of the Ancient Temple, he felt relieved, already sensing the fresh air from above.
He greeted Frodo in his tavern, as he slowly walked towards the depot and Benjamin, the local postman.
Benjamin said,
Welcome to the post office! If you need help with letters or parcels, just ask me. I can explain everything.
Landan stopped to catch his breath and greeted the legendary Thaian general who had lost his memory in a battle against Ferumbras, and now worked as a postman in the local depot.
Landan: Morning, Benjamin. How are ya?
Benjamin: Very well, even though I’m not as busy as I used to be. Blimey, you look exhausted. What have you been up to?
Landan: Oh, tell me about it, mate. I’m knackered. Do you know where I’ve been?!
Benjamin: No, but let me guess. Another bounty task?
Landan: Yes, mate. I paid Markwin and his army a visit. Killed them all, looted everything they had. Look at all this stuff in my backpacks! I’m gonna get a few coins for this.
Benjamin: Ah, the old Mintwallin. Fair enough. Why didn’t you send a parcel from there?
Landan: What do you mean? Is there a post office in Mintwallin?
Benjamin: No, I don’t think so. Or is there? I can’t remember, sorry. But I think there’s a mailbox, unless it was destroyed. It used to be in Markwin’s castle.
Landan: Are you sure? I didn’t see a single mailbox in Mintwallin.
Benjamin: Oh… erm… no, I’m not too sure now. Have you really not seen any mailboxes there? Oh no, it must have been destroyed when the minotaurs settled in.
Landan: You’ve been to Mintwallin, right? There was a door which, a door without a lock, just a red handle. I tried to open it, but it wouldn’t budge! Do you know what’s behind it, or why I couldn’t open it?
Benjamin: Where exactly was it? Which part of the city?
Landan: Northern part, near the main gate.
Benjamin: Ah, yes, I remember now! Inside that building, there’s a mailbox. But you can only open the door by completing some tasks for Kevin. You know Kevin, the Postmaster General.
Landan: Yes, I know, Kevin.
Benjamin: Then visit him if you want. It won’t be quick to become an Archpostman, which is what you’ll need to use those mailboxes. But it’s definitely worth it, trust me!
Landan: Alright. I’ll store all this loot, get some sleep, and visit him tomorrow. Cheers.
Benjamin: No worries. Say hi to him for me. Oh, and tell him we need more parcels here. I’m slowly running out.

Lovely story!
I was always too lazy to do the Postman quest, maybe I should give it a go at last...

Wakey, wakey, Landan!
What a beautiful day, even though he still feels like a foreigner here in Port Hope. Still, it’s nice to wake up in such a sunny place. It’s not that sunny in Kazordoon, is it?
Landan grabs some mana potions, sharpens his axes, and leaves the little hut.
He takes a boat from Port Hope to Thais, walks down the ladder, and heads towards Mount Sternum.
He walks into the Dark Mansion, the guildhall of Above, our beloved friends. Unfortunately, at this hour, nobody is there.
Walking west past Mount Sternum and Lubo’s adventurer shop, he crosses the bridge and heads north.
You know where this is going, don’t you?
Straight to Kevin’s office at the Tibia Postal Service Headquarters.
This quest will take a while, and will cost him few coins.
Landan walks in, says hello to Wally- Kevin's assistant. Walks up the stairs to find Kevin in his office. He greets him and explains how badly he wants to join the guild.
Kevin gives him a mission, he needs to check the postal routes.
Landan walks down the stairs and heads back to the depot. He waits for a boat to Carlin, but a storm delays the departure, it calms down after a few minutes. The trip costs him 110 gold coins.
The day is cloudy in Carlin, but that only motivates him to get the job done quickly. He walks to the Femor Hills and talks to Uzon about taking a flight,on a magic carpet, to Edron. Sounds scary, doesn’t it? It’s not that bad, though. Very safe. Still, it costs him 60 gold coins.
Edron—a city discovered not long ago by King Tibianus III, who established his colony there.
Upon arriving at Edron’s castle, Landan climbs down a few ladders and looks for a boat. He needs to get to Venore.
He speaks to Captain Seahorse, pays 40 gold coins, and soon finds himself in Venore.
Now you might be wondering, where is he going next? Back to Thais? He’s already been to Carlin. Maybe a long walk to Ab’Dendriel?
No. Kazordoon. The place where he grew up. The mines of Kazordoon were his favourites back in the day.
He starts walking southwest, descending the stairs as he exits Venore. Off to Kazordoon!
He says hello to a few dwarves on the Dwarven Bridge with his Demonwing Axe. They didn’t stand a chance.
He buys a weekly ticket for the Kazordoon Ore Wagons. The ticket grants unlimited rides for one week. Fun, fun, fun!
Deep in the caves, he takes a steamboat to Cormaya, which costs 160 gold coins.
That’s it—the route is complete. Time to report back to Kevin.
Landan climbs the stairs in Cormaya, takes a boat from Cormaya to Edron, then from Edron to Thais. He doesn’t even bother counting how many coins he spends this time.
Arriving exhausted from all the travelling, he mounts his Widow Queen mount, casts haste, and heads northeast towards Kevin’s headquarters.
Up the stairs, again! He greets Kevin and reports that the route has been completed.
Kevin smiles, promotes him to Assistant Postman, and grants him cheaper services. 10 gold coins for parcels and 5 gold coins for letters.
We'll call this a day. Landan returns to his little hut in southern Port Hope and finally takes a well-deserved rest.

Re: Landan's stories: Fixing a mailbox
Morning.
Let’s get another mission done. Mission two, let’s see what that’s all about.
Landan rushes out of his hut in Port Hope, takes a boat to Thais. The city is alive as always, knights training, druids making runes and paladins making arrows. The postman wannabe pushes through the crowd and runs straight to Kevin’s headquarters.
“Morning, Wally! Morning, Kevin!”
Kevin tells him about his next mission: he needs to fix a mailbox.
Blimey. Landan hasn’t fixed anything in his life, let alone a mailbox.
“All right, I’ll do it,” he replies.
Kevin tells him to get a crowbar and take a ferry to Folda, the largest of the three Ice Islands, where winter wolves, polar bears, and frost trolls roam. Legends even speak of a yeti said to dwell there.
Landan heads back to Thais, stops by the depot to grab a crowbar, then takes a quick trip north to Carlin and runs northwest of the ladies’ town.
He takes a ferry to Folda, paying 20 gold coins.
Blimey, it’s freezing out here! He quickly changes into his Norseman outfit and kills some frost trolls on the way to the top of a small mountain, and there it is, a blue mailbox. Yep, broken. As if anyone would send parcels or letters from here anyway, right?
Now… where do we start? How does one even fix a mailbox?
Landan grabs his crowbar.
Bang. Bang. Bang!
Mission complete. It’s somehow fixed, don’t ask me how.
We honestly don’t know how he fixed it either.
Anyway, fixed? Good enough. “Back to Carlin,” Landan thinks. “It’s far too cold here.”
He walks back to Carlin and stops at the depot, as he’s running low on brown mushrooms to eat. Then he takes a boat to Thais and heads back to Kevin’s office to report that the mailbox has been repaired.
Kevin smiles and congratulates him, confirming his rank as Assistant Postman, along with cheaper services: 10 gold coins for parcels and 5 gold coins for letters.
Landan tells Kevin he won’t be back for a while. He’s got bounty tasks waiting. He bids farewell to Kevin and Wally, then heads back into Thais.
After all, he’s got a bounty to complete!

I wonder if Kevin received any reports of a strange person beating a mailbox with a crowbar. :)Landan wrote: Fri Apr 10, 2026 11:13 am Now… where do we start? How does one even fix a mailbox?

Re: Landan's stories: Kingdom of the Minotaurs.
Hello there! Do you remember Landan- the Assistant Postman?
He’s off to see Kevin. You already know what for: another postman mission.
Landan arrives at Kevin’s headquarters and, as always, greets Wally, who replies,
“Long time no see, mate!”
Landan smiles as he walks up the stairs to speak with Kevin. Kevin looks busy, but he notices Landan right away.
“Not seen you for a while. I hope you’re here for another task?”
Landan nods in agreement.
Kevin hands him a bill for a magician’s hat and a bunch of rabbits, to be delivered to a famous magician. He tells Landan to head to Venore and look for “a strange fellow” below the depot.
“All right, then,” Landan replies and leaves. Kevin’s desk is buried under letters, so Landan doesn’t want to disturb him any further.
Before leaving the headquarters, he takes a look at the bill Kevin gave him. There’s writing on it:
You see a bill. It weighs 1.50 oz. This is a bill for an expensive magician’s hat and several rabbits.
Landan heads to Venore and enters the depot. "Blimey", he yells. It’s busy in here! Everyone in here looks busy with their own things, so without chatting to anyone, he goes downstairs a few floors to find the person Kevin mentioned.
Landan speaks to the Strange Fellow and keeps asking about the hat on his head. The fellow clearly doesn’t want to accept the bill. After a few seconds of arguing, however, he finally gives up and takes it. He didn’t really have a choice anyway.
Easy peasy. Back to Kevin, then.
Kevin is pleased to hear that the bill will be paid. He then tells Landan about a classic post officer’s problem: aggressive dogs. Apparently, the Post Officer’s Fund is running low on bones, and Kevin asks him to collect 20 bones.
Landan loves dogs. He owns a shiba inu called TJ.
Landan accepts the task and heads downstairs.
Wally, Kevin’s assistant, asks, “You alright, mate? Where are you off to now?”
“Kevin told me to get 20 bones for the Post Officer’s Fund,” Landan replies, “but I’ve got no idea where to get them from!”
“All sorts of monsters drop bones when they die,” Wally says. “You, of all people, should know that. The closest spot would be Mount Sternum. Head deep into the mountain, and you’ll find skeletons. I think that’ll be the quickest way.”
“Alright, Wally. Cheers for that!” Landan says as he exits the building.
Mount Sternum isn’t far away. The mountain lies northeast of Thais and southwest of Kazordoon, and it’s home to many dangerous creatures such as cyclopes, ghouls, and skeletons. Deep below, there’s even a dragon lair which surely he will visit one day.
As Landan enters the mountain, he faces several cyclopes before making his way to the deeper levels, where skeletons roam. None of them give him much trouble as his Demonwing Axe slices through them like a knife through butter.
First skeleton. Second. Third. Fourth and so on. All he needs is 20 bones. With his experience, it’s an easy task, but a task is a task, and it has to be done.
After a few minutes of running around the caves, he gathers 20 bones, weighing roughly 190 oz. He puts them into his backpack and heads back to Kevin.
When he enters the headquarters, Wally looks surprised.
“Oh my days. That was quick!”
Landan thanks him for the tip about Mount Sternum and hands him some meat looted from cyclopes for him to cook later, which, of course, Wally happily accepts by saying, " That's dinner sorted for tonight!"
He walks upstairs. Kevin still looks just as busy. The pile of letters on his desk hasn’t shrunk at all.
“Have you got some bones for me?” Kevin asks.
Landan places his backpack on the desk. “Yeah. Got all of them.”
Kevin takes the backpack full of bones and smiles.
“Well done, mate, thanks for that. You're ready for a promotion”
“You’re officially a Postman now,” Kevin says, grabbing a hat from his desk.
“There you go,” he adds, handing Landan a Post Officer’s Hat.
Landan smiles, thanks Kevin, puts the hat on his head, and shakes his hand. He bids farewell to Kevin and Wally and heads back to Thais, proudly wearing his new hat.
Everyone can see it now. Landan is a Postman.
As he enters the depot, Benjamin notices the hat and shouts,
“Oi, Landan! Is that a Post Officer’s hat?!”
Landan shakes Benjamin’s hand and removes his hat.
“Yes, Benjamin. Just like you told me, I’ve been doing tasks for Kevin. I have fixed a mailbox, delivered a bill, and even collected bones for the dogs you’re all struggling with.”
Benjamin congratulates him and asks if he mentioned the need for more parcels. He’s down to only four!
“Oh no, Benjamin, I forgot. I’m sorry! I’m seeing Kevin again tomorrow morning for another mission, so I’ll definitely pass it on.”
Benjamin shakes his head, but smiles.
“No worries, fella. It’s not too busy right now anyway, but I’ll definitely need more parcels tomorrow, so do tell Kevin next time you see him.”
“Your wish is my command, General!” Landan replies.
Benjamin looks at him, clearly confused, and says goodbye.
Landan returns to his hut to sharpen his axes and repair his armor after the fights in Mount Sternum.

Re: Landan's stories: Kingdom of the Minotaurs.
Present Delivery
The morning after, Landan gets ready and heads to Thais from Port Hope. I tell you what, all this travelling will make him seasick one day.
As he walks past the depot in Thais, Benjamin shouts from behind his desk,
“Landan! Tell Kevin I need more parcels, I’m down to one!”
“On it, General,” Landan replies, continuing through the streets of Thais.
A minute or two later, he arrives at Kevin’s headquarters. He greets Wally, who tells him how good the cyclopes meat was last night.
Upstairs, Kevin’s desk is once again buried under letters, with a few parcels stacked beside it. Landan asks for another mission and mentions the need for parcels for Benjamin in Thais.
Kevin tells him to open the door on the right and take a present from the chest. Landan does as he’s told, just like always. Kevin then gives him a warning: Do not open the present. If he does, it will disappear like magic.
“What do you mean disappear? Seriously?” Landan asks.
“Yes,” Kevin replies. “If you open it, it’ll vanish from your hands, and you’ll have to buy another one from Black Bert in Thais. It’ll cost a fortune, and I’m not paying for it!”
Kevin tells him to deliver the present to Dermot, the magistrate of Fibula. Dermot lives in western Fibula, a small but beautiful island southwest of Thais.
Landan looks a bit confused.
What could be inside? Secret powers? A mysterious weapon?
He walks downstairs without saying a word to Wally and exits the building. As he walks, he thinks to himself, What am I carrying? If I can just buy it from Black Bert, maybe I should see what’s inside… It won’t disappear, will it?
He puts the present safely into his backpack and continues towards Thais. To reach Fibula, he must pass through the Fibula Tunnel.
After a short walk, he arrives on the beautiful island of Fibula. Heading south, he finds Dermot and hands him the present, which Dermot happily accepts.
Needing a moment to rest, Landan takes a short walk around the island. He speaks with Simon the Beggar, who sells him key 3940, which opens the dungeons beneath Fibula. After spending a few coins, Landan notices a massive building nearby. The Guildhall of the Red Rose.
“It looks old,” Landan says, “but blimey, it’s magnificent!”
Unfortunately, nobody is inside to offer him a drink. There seems to be a bar, but he can’t enter.
With the delivery complete, Landan decides to return to Kevin and report back. Kevin is pleased that the present was delivered safely, and even more pleased that it wasn’t opened.
Landan’s next task is to help obtain new postman uniforms. Kevin tells him to speak with Hugo, who lives in Venore.
When Landan arrives at Hugo’s workshop and asks about the new uniforms and a dress pattern, Hugo has no idea where Kevin got the design from and rudely tells Landan to bugger off.
Armed with this information, Landan returns to Kevin, who then sends him to Talphion the Technomancer in Kazordoon.
Landan is thrilled that he’s heading back to his beloved Kazordoon, the place of his childhood. His wagon ticket is still valid, so he rides straight there. He knows exactly where to find Talphion.
Talphion’s full name is Talphion Sparkbender. He’s currently working on a clock mechanism for the Colossus. Due to the loud machinery, his hearing isn’t great, and Landan has to repeat himself several times before Talphion understands. Once he does, Talphion sends Landan back to Kevin with the needed information.
Kevin approves the message from their friend in Kazordoon and instructs Landan to ask Queen Eloise about suitable colours for the uniforms.
Back to Thais. Then sails are set to Carlin, where Landan heads straight to the castle.
“Hail, Queen!” he says, asking about the uniform colours.
Queen Eloise agrees to send samples to Kevin.
Once again, Landan heads back to Kevin. Wally smiles as he passes, but Landan doesn’t stop, this task needs to be finished.
Upstairs, he reports everything about the dress patterns. Kevin then gives him another unusual assignment, to find out what smells dogs hate the most.
Kevin explains that Noodles, King Tibianus’s dog, has the best sense of smell.
Landan must gather a mouldy cheese, a banana skin, and some dirty fur. Luckily, he remembers storing all of these in his depot long ago, so they definitely stink.
He retrieves the items, cleans his equipment a bit, and heads to Thais Castle.
“Hail the King!” he shouts upon reaching the upper floor, then kneels down to speak with Noodles.
“Alright, little doggy. Sniff the banana skin… do you like that? Sniff the dirty fur… how about that?”
Noodles spits.
That’s it. Job done.
Landan leaves the castle and returns to Kevin to report his findings. Kevin writes a letter containing the patterns and sends Landan back to Hugo.
As soon as Hugo reads the letter, he insults the designs but has no choice other than to accept the order and agree to make the uniforms.
Annoyed but relieved, Landan returns to Kevin and reports Hugo’s reaction.
Kevin is satisfied with the result and promotes Landan to Grand Postman, granting him discounted travel on boats.
“Great,” Landan thinks.
Exhausted, irritated, and half-asleep, Landan finally heads back to Thais, using his new discount to sail back to Port Hope, where his hut and a well-earned rest await.
